Welcome to My Personal Page
Meet 6-year-old Kloe Livingston of Lucknow Ontario. Kloe is living and successfully managing Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) with the help and support of many people. These people are her parents (us) and brother, aunts, uncle's, cousins, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, classmates, friends, and neighbours. This is the network required to successfully manage a severe syndrome like PWS that requires constant supervision and management.
At this time Kloe’s everyday challenges are skin picking, temperature regulation, control over emotions, speech and developmental delays, and constant hunger pains. These challenges are likely to intensify and other challenges will progress as Kloe ages. Unfortunately there aren’t many treatment options for the majority of the challenges of PWS and this is why we are taking “one small step”. One small step to have hope, give hope and make that hope transform into effective treatments for individuals with PWS.
Recently Kloe campaigned to raise awareness and money for PWS research. In turn she gave back by cutting 16” of her hair and donated it to the Angel Hair For Kids Program. Kloe inspired many people who gave a total of $10 817.55 to her cause and these people in turn inspired Kloe to keep taking more steps toward eliminating the challenges of Prader-Willi Syndrome. Thank you for your continued support to Kloe at the 2009 One Small Step walk-a-thon.
